Reflections (2025)
Assess, accept, release and prepare.
Hello friends! I know this is a hectic time of year for many, so this post is relatively brief while still offering insight you might find helpful.
As this year winds down, I’ve landed in a beautiful space of reflection. It’s an eye-opening period when I look back on the chaos, triumphs, and everyday patterns that shaped my year. It’s about more than just what I’ve ticked off my wish list; it’s about how these experiences changed me.
If you’re curious about my personal highlights, you pretty much just need to check out the band’s Linktree.
I’m not a fan of New Year’s resolutions. They imply unyielding expectations, often leading us to feel like failures when we inevitably slip up. Instead, I’ve been making annual “Intentions” lists. These are clear, prioritized guidelines that I want to remain focused on for the upcoming year.
But, to do that, I have to first take stock.
This is how I make the most of the reflective season:
Assess: Take an objective look at all the ups and downs of the past year. What brought the most joy? What were the trials and challenges?
Jot down recurring themes and valuable lessons learned. Trust me, you should write this out so as not to forget important insights and nuances that could impact future success.
Accept: The past is G-O-N-E. So, own every bit of it, from the glorious to the cringe-worthy. There is no shame here; just lessons learned.
Release: Clear out the junk that’s no longer useful. Bless it for helping you when it was needed and then set it free!
How can you reframe/redefine bad vibes, self-doubt, and outdated expectations that trouble you?
Prepare: Once the clutter is cleared, start focusing on what’s possible. This isn’t about specific goals yet or even asking if they’re realistic. This is simply curating a supportive mindset to set the foundation for the coming year.
What dream(s) or desire(s) are haunting you?
If you’d like some additional help with this, I’ve created a Year End Reflection Guide available for download at no cost for a limited time.
In a follow-up post, I’ll get into the nitty-gritty of shaping realistic and achievable intentions. For now, let’s relish these moments of reflection and envision a year full of unfiltered potential.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! What does this time of year bring up for you? Please share in the comments!
