This was first posted on my original Substack, “What It’s All About”. Just in case it looks familiar, I promise it wasn’t plagiarized.
Your power lies within.
Recently, YouTube recommended a video titled "This Will Make Men Treat You Like a Queen." I’ve watched my fair share of similar videos, and while many offer valuable insights—those “aha” moments I needed at the time—there’s something even more powerful: not needing anyone’s validation at all.
Let’s break this down:
Being treated like a queen often means being respected, admired, and cared for. We all deserve to be pampered, receive special attention, and have our needs met. The advice on how to inspire others to treat you this way often revolves around building self-confidence, setting boundaries, practicing independence, and embodying kindness.
All valuable advice, no doubt.
But here’s my challenge: Why should we need anyone else to treat us this way?
Yes, set boundaries and never tolerate disrespect. But attaching your self-worth to how others treat you is a trap. It leads to dissatisfaction, disappointment, and even an obsession with controlling outcomes.
Validation does have its purpose. It’s a compass, guiding us to course-correct when necessary. But too often, we rely on it too heavily, turning it into a crutch and sometimes even an addiction.
The more I reflect on my journey, the more I see that the Universe demands balance. And that balance starts within.
Stepping into your power isn’t about waiting for validation; it’s about embracing your own worth. One that doesn’t depend on approval.
In the beginning, you may need to feel like a queen, learning to nurture and understand your worth. But eventually, you'll rise to something deeper: the Divine Goddess. A woman fully aware of her power, in complete control of her choices, radiating energy to the world.
Do you feel like a queen, or are you ready to step into the power of a goddess?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. What helps you tap into your own power? How do you balance self-empowerment with seeking validation to measure progress?
