Hello! My name is Loella. I am the punk granny behind The Punk Granny.

But I digress.

Now that you have a better understanding of the blog, perhaps you’d like to know more about the creator. If not, you’ll want to hit that Back button because the rest of this is going to be all about me.

In honor of brevity, let me just tell you that I have a shitton of life experience at this point. I don’t want this to turn into a memoir series, so I’ll give you the highlights. I am a:

• Neurodivergent, deep-thinking, silly, sarcastic goofball that refuses to take herself too seriously

• Trauma/breast cancer/divorce survivor

• Marvel geek

• Former aspiring actor (my biggest claim to fame is once working as an extra next to Idris Elba on The Wire)

• Non-conforming, non-traditional, perpetual questioner doing her damnedest to uplift others because I believe the world is a better place when people are happy

After decades of wishing and dreaming, I finally joined a community indie-rock band based in Tampa, FL. The band, called Hex Appeal is comprised of all women. We formed in 2024, which is a story in and of itself—here’s a Tampa Bay Times article for details.

We have yet to record anything, but do play local, live gigs. You can follow us on Instagram and Facebook.

As mentioned above, I’m a solopreneur. If you didn’t catch it before, I’m a Certified Professional Coach specializing in growth mindset and the founder of Mindset Power Coaching.

Thanks to the success of this Substack, and the amazing support, I’ve decided to expand. The Punk Granny is now a registered DBA. In addition to coaching services, I will be offering mentoring, thought leadership, public speaking, writing/editing services and much more.
